Red Line Book Festival 15-20 October 2013 - booking now open

Booking for this year's Red Line Book Festival which will take place from October 15th - 20th 2013 is now open. There is a fantastic line-up for this year's festival including our own Paul Butler and Eamon Maher.

What the library can do for you!

All students are automatically given a library account.  
As a library member in good standing you get the following benefits:
·        Borrow items (books, DVD's etc)
  • ·        Use of the library as a study space
    • Book group strudy rooms
  • ·        Use of pc's & printing facilities in the library
  • ·        Library correspondence to your e-mail address
  • ·        Access to online databases, tutorials, journals and services
  • ·        Your own personal library account where you can check the due date for items on loan, renew loans, save searches
  • ·        Access to exam papers online
  • ·        Subject / Research support, with training on how to use the library
  • ·        Check library opening hours

If you have any problems with your library account, or need help using the library, please feel free to contact the library.

Please note that your library account needs to be up to date, with no overdue items or penalty points for you to be able to log on to the library web site for access to these services.

Over the next few weeks things will be changing with the library website, as we move to a new design.  Please let us know if this causes any issues for you.

Library staff and LIBRA book club are currently reading "Memoir" in preparation for Red Line Book Festival  which is happening in October, so plenty of time to check it out.
Having read this or other titles by McGahern you are most welcome to join us on the mezz Tuesday 15th October to discuss over a cuppa and while here check out STILL photographic exhibition inspired by the writings of John McGahern.

TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. The event is called TEDxTallaght where x = independently organized TED event. At the TEDxTallaght event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, are self-organized.

Facebook Apps to search the catalogue, and search exam papers now available on the Library's Facebook Page

The Facebook apps developed over the summer are now live on the Library's Facebook Page. There are two, one that embeds the catalogue search page, and one the embeds the exam paper search page. Both of these leverage our new responsive web design.
